Remember Us The Holocaust (RUTH) Exhibit

Remember Us The Holocaust (RUTH) is a non-profit organization dedicated to documenting and preserving the legacy of Holocaust survivors. The RUTH exhibit highlights the stories of Holocaust survivors who are currently living in San Diego County, as well as showcasing important Holocaust artifacts and World War II memorabilia. These individuals embody resilience, gratitude, and an unwavering hope that such atrocities will never be repeated. On exhibit now through June 28, 2026 on the Garth Family Reading Level of the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Annex at the La Jolla/Riford Library (7555 Draper Avenue, La Jolla, CA 92037)​​​

A monthly series of RUTH Exhibit Speakers is held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm in the library’s Community Room.

Heidi Langbein Allen, author of Save the Last Bullet: Memoir of a Boy Soldier in Hitler’s Army, shares her father’s experience of being a child in Hitler’s army.

Lou Pechi: Holocaust survivor and author of I am Lubo: The Incredible Story of a Child’s Struggle to Survive, details his life as a child hidden away from his parents and his return to them.

Ben Midler: Holocaust survivor of six camps, including Auschwitz, and author of The Life of a Child Survivor from Bialystok, Poland.
